Calling out to my fellow bloodthirsty solo rogues

Calling out to my fellow bloodthirsty solo rogues, can we have a bit of solidarity here? We’re already dealing with these buffed-up 3-player squads lurking around every corner. Why do we constantly need to backstab each other? Let’s join forces for a change!

Let me share what went down.

Last night, I was concealed up in the rafters, you know, doing my rogue thing. I caught the sound of a pair of rubber-soled boots shuffling about in the room next door to the east. Positioned for an ambush, I was tingling with excitement. Finally, I thought, I’m about to catch a fighter off guard – a class other than the usual. This fight should be an exhilarating challenge! Suddenly, I heard a distinct clinking sound, drawing near from the south, right where the doorway lay beneath me.

Guess what? It’s a fighter. Again.

But this fighter was alone, and as he entered the room, I spotted his impressive gear. The rogue or rubber-soled guy I heard earlier to the east was still there, just stationary now. He must have picked up on the fighter’s approach as well, ready to jump in but oblivious to my presence. Armed with a white rapier and a handful of extra throwing daggers – basically just enough to get the job done – I figured the risk was worth it. All I needed to do was avoid taking two hits and land 6 to 8 hits of my own on the fighter. A simple plan, right? (Haha)

The fighter started looting a chest in the room. My moment had come. I descended from above, walloped the fighter four times, retreated, then hit him with a throwing dagger – a massive opening salvo. During this flurry, the rogue from the east burst into the fray, landing 2 to 3 dagger hits on the fighter himself! Fantastic! Everything was unfolding just as I’d hoped, and this pesky fighter was finally getting a taste of his own medicine. While the rogue was engaging, I crouched nearby, signaling my alliance by waving the surrender emote. In response, the fighter activated sprint. I stowed my weapon and pivoted to kite the fighter, leaving the finishing blow to my rogue ally.

But if things had gone according to plan, I wouldn’t be writing this post now! Just as I turned around to lead the fighter away, the very rogue who was aiding me decided to unleash an attack on my back. I fell. Not long after, the other rogue met a swift defeat, putting up little resistance. The spectator camera zoomed in on the fighter, with a measly 10 HP left. Had the other rogue landed just two more hits (I say two because one hit might not be enough to finish off a fighter with only 10 HP – go figure), he would’ve been toast. The fighter was adorned in blue and purple gear, a bag bursting with valuable loot.

How could you be so foolish? Don’t you guys despise fighters as much as I do? Why not unite with another rogue for a bit of petty vengeance against a solo fighter who’s basically wearing a sign that says “please gank me”? Instead, they always seem to opt for the most senseless and unenjoyable choice for everyone involved. I get that “never trust a rogue” is practically our mantra, but maybe solo rogues should be more inclined to lend each other a hand from time to time, rather than part ways. Or at the very least, make the betrayal more imaginative, for crying out loud.

Anyway, there isn’t a huge point to this post – just wanted to share my frustrations and tell a story. And Skill and lots of Dark and Darker Gold are both essential if you want to win the final game, and you better have great teammates.
